Next Legion Meeting:

May 12, 2010

Legion Post 315 will be holding their next meeting on 12 May 2010, 7:00pm at the Kountry Korner Cafe. Please try to be there as we will be discussing the upcoming fund raiser and we could use all the help we can get.

Old Flags:

What do you do with old, tattered flags? Did you know that it's not appropriate to just throw and old flag away in the trash? If you have a flag that is no longer serviceable, is getting ragged, torn and worn out, please give it to a Legion Member. We will make sure that it is disposed of properly.

New Flags

Do you need a new flag for you house? Contact Mike Depko or Don Linquist Jr. and if we don't have the size flag you need, we can definetly get one for you.

Commander's Corner

This page is dedicated to the veteran's of Page, living and passed, who sacrificed so much so that we may enjoy Freedom. "All Gave Some, Some Gave All."

Our deepest sympathy and condolances go out to the family of Gus "Willis" Robinson who passed away recently. Willis will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his dedication to his country and Page American Legion Post 315.

Page Legion Memorial

2010 Page Legion Post Fundraiser! Our Post will be holding a 2 part fundraiser this year. The first will be a Steak Feed. This will be held on 28 May, 6:00pm - 9:00pm, at the Kountry Korner Cafe. We don't have the exact cost yet, but we should soon. We are planning on serving Ribeye Steaks, Baked Potato, Salad, Cheesecake for Dessert, and coffee and ice tea. O'Neill Super Foods is helping with the meat and they are giving us a great price. Amy Lockwood is making the Cheesecakes. Don Linquist Sr. has hired the Country Gents musical group to entertain us throughout the evening. They will perform around 8:00pm to midnight. For the second part of this fund raiser, we will be holding a raffle for a 50" Panasonic Flatscreen Plasma HD TV. A Special Thanks goes to Don's TV in O'Neill for helping us obtain the TV. 2nd Prize will be $200 cash and 3rd Prize will be $100 cash. We will begin selling tickets at the steak feed and continue until Page Community Day, when we hold the drawing right before the Barbeque in the Page Park. You need not be present to win, and if you live out of town, we will ship the TV to you should you win it. Tickets will be $5.00 each, with a maximum of 500 tickets being sold. Contact any Legion Member for tickets or you have any questions or want to buy tickets, just email me by clicking here

The purpose of these fundraisers is to continue with the community projects we have gotten involved with in the last year. During the Holidays, along with the help of the Auxilary members, we provided food baskets for people in town, which included a Turkey and all the fixings for a great holiday meal. We contributed $250.00 to Beth Tielke's efforts in supporting our troops. We purchased 200 new 8"x24" flags that will be placed on all veterans' graves on Memorial Day, as well as purchasing 15 6'x4' flags to use as replacements for some of our older flags that we post every year at the cemetary. Additionally, we have contributed money to the Page Improvement Club to replace the swings in the Page Park. So hopefully, with everyone's generousity, we will continue to be able to provide for our community.
